Do these legislators support Ohio's small businesses, private clubs and Ohio jobs?

Or do they support special interests like SmokeFree Ohio who lied about about there being no harm to businesses from smoking bans, who used election fraud to get Issue 5 on the ballot, who used fradulent ballot language that intentionally misled voters by leaving out 8 words on the ballot language at the polls?  ("not open to the public" and "with no employees")?  Do they support those who the lies hurt - the hard working families and private clubs in Ohio?

SmokeFree Ohio told our Legislators to stand down in 2006 so they could spin their web of deceit. The Anti's are so brazen, they even wrote about what they did and said to our legislators.  See Stanton Glantz's publication. (scroll to the page numbered 73)

This email was sent to Governor Strickland and the legislators on April 27, 2010.

"There are a lot of small business owners in this state who are mad as hell at you ELECTED officials.  You not only have Tea Partiers pissed off at ELECTED Congressional representatives, state legislators will feel the wrath as well because you've done NOTHING to help with job losses, high unemployment, a failing state economy.  Your general lackadaisical attitude with regard to businesses begging for help with some relief in the form of exemptions from the smoking ban has hurt you more than you'll know.

There are a very small handful of you who have understood our plight:

·         Ohio voters should never have been able to vote on an issue that impacts OUR businesses, the ones WE'RE responsible for paying the bills for, NOT the voters.

·         The law we have is NOT the law voters approved.  There ARE no exemptions for family owned businesses and private clubs.  So how is it you keep saying "the voters spoke"?  It's a cop-out.

·         Ohio has lost THOUSANDS of hospitality and leisure employees; an additional 1,500 in March.  WE were the industry that hired displaced white and blue collar workers.

·         You've disrespected us by ignoring us.  Is our industry not a noble enough industry for you?  Why do you choose to help everyone else out?  Even the Governor said that exceptions to laws should be created...for everyone else BUT us.

·         You forget that we are OHIO EMPLOYERS.

·         Ohio has spent $3.2 million to enforce a ban that has netted them $430,000 in fines.  That's IRRESPONSIBLE FISCAL MANAGEMENT.

·         Ohio spent MILLIONS buying ineffective nicotine replacement patches and gum.  The only people to benefit were the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (who owns 42,343,391 shares of JnJ stock who sells Nicorette, Nicoderm) and Johnson & Johnson.

As you start your campaigning, remember this and burn it into your brains.  We KNOW who our friends in Columbus have been and there are only a small handful.  YOU, we will campaign for.  YOU, we will work to get re-elected.  YOU, we will work day and night for.  We've lined up bar owners in Ohio to hold fundraisers for those of you who step up to the plate to help us.  But we want passed legislation, as we've seen two bills now that were introduced but sat and collected dust.  The rest of you, we will work TIRELESSLY to make sure you do NOT get re-elected.  We've amassed a large group of people by merging with other groups who are tired of struggling in this God forsaken state to make a living.  Your cushy jobs will be gone and YOU'LL be pounding the pavement, getting a taste of the job hunting experience as many of our former employees have.

Do we sound angry?  You bet!  YOU may end up unemployed but you're not losing hundreds of thousands of dollars with your loss like WE are.  Our businesses are FOLDING.  And what better way to release our anger and frustration with a DEAF legislature than to have them HEAR us campaigning AGAINST them.

You've disrespected us.  You've turned your back on us.  You've ignored us.  I'm a Regional Director for one of the two Ohio liquor permit holder groups in Ohio.  We will NOT ignore YOU.  We're going to give each and every one of you the attention you deserve.  You don't care that we lose OUR jobs/businesses?  We will take great delight in helping you lose yours.

Which Ohio legislators are now standing up for us?   Which legislators are pro-business?  Who will ensure the will of the voters?  See for yourselves so you can decide how to vote in November.  In 2010, we will send our OWN message to our elected officials.  Special interests may have money for their coffers, but the one thing that can't be bought are our votes

Let's start with our Governor, who is seeking another term.
Ted Strickland gets our appreciation for realizing that those who choose to purchase a legal product should not foot the bill for funding budget shortfalls.  He also gets our appreciation for abolishing the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention Foundation who did nothing more than make big pHARMa rich off pushing their ineffective patches and gum.
Governor Strickland, however, gets our "thumbs down" for:

1) not doing anything about the election fraud that got Issue 5 on the ballot
2) not enforcing exemptions that voters read at the ballot for "family owned businesses" and "private clubs", most importantly for
3) not caring more for Ohio's small businesses than he does.
